Digital Observatory membership and subscriptions

A Digital Observatory is a published view of recorded public conversation on a topic, updated on a schedule. Free verified membership and paid subscriptions are separate from the newsletter and from any private demonstration access. Joining or paying never subscribes you to email.

Free membership

Free membership is granted to a verified email address for one observatory. It shows captured account identities and basic charts. We may withdraw a membership that is used to scrape, redistribute or automate access to the service.

Paid subscriptions

Paid access is billed in advance for the interval you choose, in South African Rand, through Paystack. Murmur Intelligence (Pty) Ltd is the merchant of record and that name appears on your card statement. Your access is calculated from the periods you have paid for: it starts when the payment is confirmed and ends at the end of the paid period. The price for each plan is shown before you pay.

Cancellation

You can stop renewal at any time from the observatory's membership page. There are no cancellation fees. Stopping renewal keeps your paid access until the end of the current paid period and no further charges are made. If a renewal payment fails, your access ends at the end of the last paid period and no new charge is attempted without your action.

Refunds

Once a paid period has started its fee is not refundable, except that if you are not satisfied with your first paid subscription payment you may request a full refund within seven (7) days of that payment by emailing info@murmurintelligence.com with your account email address and the Paystack payment reference. A refund ends the paid period it relates to. Partial refunds and disputed payments are reviewed individually; where a payment is reversed, the access it paid for is withdrawn.

What the data is

Observatory content summarises what was recorded in public posts during fixed periods. Descriptions of narratives are claims and arguments in posts, not verified findings, and counts describe what was captured, not reach or influence. Days without collection are shown as gaps. Named accounts are limited to public figures, organisations and media whose descriptions have been reviewed; other accounts are shown without identities outside paid and verified tiers. We may correct or withdraw a published release; corrected data is not recoverable from earlier downloads and we accept no liability for decisions taken on withdrawn releases.

Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to our website at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or our business.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of South African courts.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting updated Terms on our website with a new "Last Updated" date.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
